Terms and Conditions


Social Journeys is a responsible travel organization based in Kathmandu, operated under license permitted from Government of Nepal. Any of our trips can be booked through online or e-mail or fax clearly stating the services required.

The following terms and conditions apply to all trips operated by Social Journeys:

Trip Confirmation and payment:
To confirm your participation, we require the non-refundable deposit of US$ 300 per person 60 days before the trip starting date and full payment is to be made up on arrival in Kathmandu. Final trip documentation will be released upon full trip payment. Deposit can be wired to our bank account. Bank service charge should be paid by the travellers themselves at the time of deposit

You can make the final payment in cash (USD, Euro or any other convertible currencies) or Travelers cheque once you arrive in Kathmandu. We also accept credit cards but we discourage it because this incurs an additional surcharge by the bank.

Cancellation and refunds:
Cancellation by Social Journeys: Social Journeys reserves the right to cancel any trip departure before it is guaranteed to run. A trip is guaranteed to run once it has two fully paid travelers, unless minimum numbers state otherwise. If Social Journeys cancels a departure which is guaranteed to run we will refund the trip price, plus you are entitled to take an alternative trip of the same value without charge. A proviso to this — Social Journeys reserves the right to cancel any trip, including a guaranteed trip, prior to departure due to reasons outside it’s' control (i.e.: natural disasters or political instability). In such a case, Social Journeys will refund the trip price only.

Cancellation by the Traveler: No refunds will be made if you voluntarily leave a trip for any reason after the trip has begun. Refunds will be at the discretion of Social Journeys if you are involuntarily forced to leave a trip for any reason. No refunds will be made for any accommodation, transport, sightseeing, meals or services not utilised. Please note that these conditions are subject to change.

Complimentary:
For all programs, we will provide one person complimentary for every 12 full paying people. Flights cost and Government fees do not complement. Complimentary or discounted accommodation shall be made on a twin-sharing basis - not in a single occupancy.

Children:
Children below 03 years will be free of cost and below 12 years will get 50% discount on tour cost, Pre-information and acceptance is necessary.

Insurance:
Travellers are required to provide for themselves all necessary insurances against personal injury, loss, damage, theft, cancellation, delay, emergency rescue etc.

Price Changes:
The prices quoted by Social Journeys are based on airfares, exchange rates and costs in effect on the date shown. We reserve the right to alter our prices if these rates change substantially. We may also apply surcharges in the event of significant changes in airfare, government regulations and taxes. We cannot make refunds to guests who are adversely affected by changes in exchange rates

Delays and Itinerary Changes:
Social journeys shall not be responsible for any delays or changes in itineraries caused by an act, omission or other circumstances which is out of our control. The traveler understands that such situations may occur and that we will not be able to inform the guest about the uncertain problem.

Assumption of Risk:
The traveler understands that during the course of the trip, certain risks and dangers may occur, including, but not limited to, the hazards of traveling in mountainous terrain, accident or illness in remote places without medical facilities, and the forces of nature. The traveler agrees to assume all risks associated with the journey, and agrees that no liability will be attached to the company or its outfitters, employees or agents, or to any member of the tour group in respect to death, personal injury, illness or delay of traveler, or for any loss or damage to the property of the traveler during the course of the trip, whatever caused.

Responsibility:
We reserve the right to refuse to continue to carry any traveler(s) causing inconvenience or annoyance to other travelers, or creating difficulties that would hamper the smooth running of a trip. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage to baggage or personal possessions, or any consequential losses resulting there from. If a traveler is injured or becomes ill, all evacuation and hospital expenses, doctors' fees and repatriation costs are the guests responsibility, and Social Journey shall not be liable for any refund of the tour fare.
