Remote Area Treks

Makalu Base Camp - 23 Days .
This is an outstanding trek in one of the most remote areas in Nepal that see very few trekkers. This trek offers a combination of rich culture heritage, unsurpassed beauty and biological diversity. The trail takes us from the steamy lowlands of Tumlingtar on the Arun River, to the base camp of Mt. Makalu. The trail follows the beautiful Barun River valley in the Makalu Barun National Park, crossing Shipton pass at 4127m before arriving at the Makalu Base Camp at 5000m. We will meet the etnic groups of Limbu, Newar and Rai at the lower elevations and Tibetan Buddhists at the higher elevations. We will get a close look at Makalu ( 8481 m) in addition to Everest, Lhotse, Baruntse and Peaks 6 and 7. The Arun valley is also a home of a rare species of various birds which are now only found in Nepal.
